Patricia L. Dodge is the Managing Partner of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott.

 

For more than thirty years as a trial attorney, Ms. Dodge has represented a wide range of foreign and domestic corporations, closely-held businesses, municipal agencies, and individuals in connection with complex commercial litigation, securities fraud, products liability and land use litigation.  As principal trial counsel, she advocates for her clients in state and federal courts by using innovative trial techniques and where appropriate, alternative dispute resolution.  Over the course of her career, Ms. Dodge has secured for her clients several multi-million verdicts, including a $104 million verdict in a breach of contract action.

 

Ms. Dodge also represents her clients in domestic and international arbitration proceedings, including in matters before the International Chamber of Commerce and the Swiss Chambers’ Arbitration, Zurich Chamber of Commerce.  She is an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and also serves as a private arbitrator.  In addition, Ms. Dodge frequently serves as a mediator and neutral evaluator in lawsuits pending in federal court. 

 

Ms. Dodge has been elected as a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.  She is the Past-President of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.  She has been selected for inclusion in “The Best Lawyers of America,” published by Woodward & White, since 2007 and was named by Best Lawyers as Pittsburgh Lawyer of the Year 2012 in Products Liability Litigation-Defendants.  She has also been named as a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer” by the publisher of Law & Politics Magazine every year since 2005, as well as one of the top fifty lawyers in Pittsburgh.

 

Ms. Dodge received a Bachelor of Science degree with high distinction from the Pennsylvania State University in 1974.  She earned her Juris Doctor Degree cum laude in 1981 from Duquesne University School of Law, where she served on the Duquesne Law Review.

 

Ms. Dodge is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and in the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, the District of Maryland and the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.  She is a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, as well as the International Association of Defense Counsel.

 

Ms. Dodge is an adjunct professor at the University Pittsburgh School of Law where she teaches Advanced Trial Evidence.  She is a Trustee of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation and a hearing officer for the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board. 

 

Ms. Dodge serves as President of the Council of the Borough of Thornburg, where she resides with her husband,  Howard Schulberg.
