Patricia L. Dodge is the Managing Partner of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP. As an experienced trial attorney, Ms. Dodge represents a wide range of foreign and domestic corporations, closely-held businesses, municipal agencies, and individuals in connection with complex commercial litigation, employment-related litigation, oil and gas controversies, products liability and land use litigation. She is an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and also serves as a private arbitrator. In addition, Ms. Dodge frequently serves as a mediator and neutral evaluator in lawsuits pending in federal court.
Ms. Dodge has tried numerous jury and bench trials in state and federal court. She has also litigated multiple arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association, as well as arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce and the Swiss Chambers’ Arbitration Institution, Zurich Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Dodge has been counsel of record in a number of appeals before the Commonwealth, Superior and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Ms. Dodge has been elected as a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the American College of Trial Lawyers, and the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County She has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®, published by Woodward & White, since 2007 and was named by Best Lawyers® as Pittsburgh Lawyer of the Year 2012 in Products Liability Litigation-Defendants. She has also been named as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer® by the publisher of Law & Politics Magazine every year since 2005, as well as one of the top one hundred lawyers in Pennsylvania, one of the top fifty lawyers in Pittsburgh, and one of the top fifty female lawyers in Pennsylvania.
Ms. Dodge was named as a “Woman of the Year” in 2012 by The Legal Intelligencer and was honored with the 2012 Professionalism Award by the Civil Litigation Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association. In 2014, she was named a “Woman of Distinction” by the Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania. Ms. Dodge was recently honored by the Pittsburgh Business Times as winner of the 2015 Business Women First Award. She is this year’s recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from Duquesne University School of Law and a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Legal Intelligencer.
Ms. Dodge received a Bachelor of Science degree with high distinction from the Pennsylvania State University in 1974. She earned her Juris Doctor Degree cum laude in 1981 from Duquesne University School of Law, where she served on the Duquesne Law Review.
Ms. Dodge is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, the District of Maryland and the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations.
Ms. Dodge is Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation and a hearing officer for the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board.
