Estate Litigation
Through the Tax & Estate Planning Group, Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP has for years administered a significant amount of estates and trusts located primarily in Western Pennsylvania. For the most part, such administration involved typical estate and trust administration services. However, as the need arose, the Firm's estate attorneys were called upon to handle a wide range of estate and trust litigation matters before the Orphan's Court divisions located in Pittsburgh and the surrounding counties.

Today, the Firm's Estate Litigation Group handles our clients' estate and trust litigation matters. Working with the Firm's estate planning lawyers, the attorneys in the Estate Litigation Group represent our clients' interest in a wide variety of litigation brought before the Orphan's Court. Examples of such litigation matters include:

  • Will contests

  • Contested guardianships

  • Trustee removal actions

  • Surcharge actions against trustees and executors

  • Will and trust interpretation disputes

  • Joint property contests

  • Cy-près litigation

  • Disputes over fiduciaries' compensation

  • Inheritance and estate tax disputes

At Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP, the Estate Litigation Group has attorneys who are experienced in handling various types of estate and trust litigation matters. Please contact us if you have any questions or need advice regarding this type of litigation matter.
