Lawrence B. Niemann is a senior counsel to Meyer, Unkovic & Scott and past-chairman of the Business Transaction & Planning Group, working primarily in the practice area of corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions.

Additional Information

Mr. Niemann was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and currently resides in Oakmont with his wife.  Mr. Niemann has three sons and seven grandchildren.  He is an enthusiastic follower of all sports in Pittsburgh and has had season tickets for the Pittsburgh Steelers since the 1960s.

  • Assists many small business owners in personal, corporate, and tax planning, including helping families pass businesses from one generation to another and transferring businesses to key employees and outside parties.
  • Retirement planning and transfer of family wealth through the use of trusts, corporate reorganizations, and other methods designed to reduce income and death taxes.
  • Assists in planning for executives, including employment agreements, stock options, deferred compensation, and fringe benefits.
  • Review of licensing and sales agreements and negotiation of letters of credit.
  • Acquisitions involving European and Japanese companies, in addition to domestic businesses.
  • Participation in complex business acquisitions, including the negotiation of acquisition and sales agreements; addressing tax, environmental, labor, and other issues; and the structuring of the transaction in the best interest of the firm’s clients.
