MUS Associate Maxwell Briskman Stanfield Elected as Step Up Chair for the Cordozo Society of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh

Maxwell Briskman StanfieldMeyer, Unkovic & Scott Associate Maxwell Briskman Stanfield was recently appointed as the Step Up Chair for the Cardozo Society of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh.

Cardozo Society is the Honorary Society for Jewish Attorneys who make a contribution of $1,800 or more to the Jewish Federation’s Community Campaign. The society is named for the renowned Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, Benjamin Cardozo (1870-1938). The Cardozo Society’s Step Up Program is open to attorneys under the age of 40 or those who are new in their legal careers and make a pledge to reach the recommended giving level within three years.

Maxwell counsels clients across a number of industries, and handles  corporate, business, financial, commercial real estate and entertainment industry transactions. He regularly assists clients with contract drafting and interpretation; commercial real estate acquisition, disposition, and leasing; lending and exempt-securities transactions; business entity formation and structure; nonprofit organization matters; and interpretation of franchise agreements. He is also a member of the firm’s COVID-19 Small Business Loan Team.

Within his entertainment practice, Maxwell assists production companies, marketing and branding agencies, artists, entertainers, fashion designers, and other creative industry professionals with all aspects of their art form and their business – including advising on general business and intellectual property matters.

Maxwell earned his J.D. from Southwestern Law School and B.A. from Washington & Jefferson College.
