The Push for Board Diversification Will Continue – Don’t Be Left Behind

2020 brought significant change at a scale unseen for decades, and 2021 appears likely to continue the trend. As a result, the corporate world, like every segment of America, must reckon with it.

More diverse boards, which are more representative of the world we see on Main Street rather than the top floor of a skyscraper, are likely to have debates or make decisions that align a company with society’s current values. In fact, even before 2020 brought equality and diversity to greater heights in the national discourse, a 2017 survey of nearly 900 directors found nearly 3-in-4 recognized diversity is beneficial. So, four years later, what does the current landscape look like?
