Network Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a full-time Network Manager to join our law firm located in downtown Pittsburgh. This role provides sophisticated legal services to a diverse client base. Technology, security, and reliability are critical to our practice, and we are seeking an experienced Network Manager to lead, maintain, and evolve our IT network infrastructure in a secure, high-availability environment, as well as support all aspects of end-user software.

The Network Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and on-going management of the firm’s network and related systems. This role works closely with firm leadership, attorneys, and staff to ensure reliable connectivity, data protection, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and service-oriented skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, manage, and maintain the firm’s network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, switches, and wireless networks
  • Ensure network security, data integrity, and confidentiality in accordance with legal industry best practices
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to minimize downtime
  • Oversee user access, authentication, and identity management
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, managed service providers, and telecommunications partners
  • Lead network-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new office deployments
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on disaster recovery, business continuity, and cybersecurity initiatives
  • Provide guidance and escalation support to IT staff and help desk teams
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, security threats, and compliance requirements relevant to law firms

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Experience supporting a law firm or other professional services organization
  • Industry certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+ or similar
  • Experience with cloud networking and hybrid environments
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and data privacy standards relevant to legal practices
  • End-user device support and imaging of PCs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise or professional-services network environments
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies
  • Experience with network security, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention, and endpoint protection
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft-based environments (Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft 365)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills

Other Information:

Shift: Full-time, exempt, Monday through Friday

Pay: Based on experience

Benefits: Eligible for generous benefit package to include medical/dental/vision, group life & AD&D coverage, 401(k) and employer contribution after eligibility requirements are met, Paid-Time Off (PTO), Section 132 Transportation benefit.

Location: Work on-site at downtown Pittsburgh location
