Joseph E. Bartoszewicz is Vice Chair of the firm’s Real Estate & Lending Group and Chair of the Lenders Group. Joe has practiced at the firm since his graduation from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1989. He practices in the areas of commercial real estate financing and real estate acquisition and development.

Additional Information

Joe is an avid hiker and road bicyclist and enjoys ultra-endurance day hikes (e.g. Grant Canyon R2R2R and Pemi Loop – White Mountains, NH) and rides, both locally and throughout the US. Joe is also a lifetime fisherman and enjoys fishing for muskies throughout the United States and Canada. Joe was born and raised in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh and now lives in the Town of McCandless with his wife Cindy.

  • Joe represents lending institutions, including local and regional banks in all aspects of complex commercial real estate lending transactions, including consultation and advice on transaction structuring, drafting and negotiation of loan documentation, analysis of title insurance issues and risks, and management, guidance, and leadership of the transaction closing process.
  • In addition, Joe represents developers and other individual and corporate clients in transactions involving the purchase, sale, construction, renovation, and financing of all types of commercial real estate, including retail properties, golf courses, residential projects, apartments, office complexes, office buildings, and multi-use warehouse facilities.
  • Joe closes transactions involving real estate located in any jurisdiction in the United States, through the firm’s membership in Meritas, a worldwide affiliation of law firms.
