Meyer, Unkovic & Scott’s Employment Law Group actively represents clients faced with employment related disputes ranging from discrimination and harassment claims, wage and hour claims, disputes related to employment agreements and non-compete agreements.  We guide clients through the administrative process of claims filed with various governmental agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations and the Department of Labor and vigorously represent our clients with litigation claims filed in Federal and State Courts.

The Employment Group focuses on working with companies to prevent employment issues, day-to-day counseling to avoid employee claims, keeping employers up-to-date on changes in employment laws and providing training regarding compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity laws and prevention of harassment and discrimination claims.

Our attorneys’ employment law work on behalf of clients include:

    • Employer counseling regarding compliance with Employment Laws and Regulations; employee medical issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA); wage and hour compliance under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act, and Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Law; layoffs and termination issues and compliance with the WARN Act, drug testing, background checks and unemployment matters.
    • Defense of harassment, discrimination and wrongful discharge claims brought against employers under the Title VII, Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disability Act and related laws and regulations;
    • Representing Companies in claims before governmental agencies
    • Drafting and reviewing employment agreements such as, independent contractors, non-compete, non-solicitation, confidentiality and other restrictive covenant agreements;
    • Drafting and updating employee handbooks and policies
    • Wage and hour compliance
