Accounts Receivable/Billing Clerk

We are seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable/Billing Clerk to join our law firm located in downtown Pittsburgh. This role supports the financial operations of the firm by processing payments, reconciling accounts, and addressing billing concerns. It also involves preparing reports and assisting with general accounting tasks.

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Process incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues.
  • Aid Billing Department in preparation of attorney bills to clients.
  • Correspond with clients in writing and verbally regarding their account balances.
  • Prepare financial reports for attorneys, clients, or management regarding client accounts.
  • Submit daily reports on cash collections to both attorneys and management.
  • Resolve monthly bank statement inconsistencies with the general ledger.
  • Prepare and submit daily bank deposit.
  • Prepare the daily cash sheet for management review.
  • Assist in opening Attorney new matters and running conflict checks through Workflow system.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of accounts receivable experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Shift: Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Pay: Based on experience
