Intellectual Property Pitfalls in Corporate Transactions

David G. Oberdick will address intellectual property misconceptions and corresponding pitfalls that arise in corporate transactions at an upcoming event for the Allegheny County Bar Association Corporate, Banking and Business Law Section.

These intellectual property pitfalls and misconceptions include the scope of the “work made for hire” concept, the proper use of intellectual property symbols and notices, the application of United States intellectual property rights outside of the U.S., due diligence considerations, the proper use of trade secrets and critical provisions in non-disclosure agreements.

The Meyer, Unkovic & Scott Intellectual Property group has extensive experience in protecting intellectual property through negotiations and litigation and practical experience in patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation. They also work with our Business Litigation attorneys in handling traditional litigation issues impacted by intellectual property, the Internet, and the digital age.
