Clients will look to us as counsel to help guide them on whether they should file an appeal. It is important that property owners understand that filing an assessment appeal puts a property’s assessed value at issue for all parties to argue over the correct amount. Thus, it is possible to file a “bad appeal” that could result in the property actually seeing an increased assessed value.
